Polyhexamethylene Biguanide (PHMB) is biocidal and fungicidal and is used as a disinfectant, as is chlorine. PHMBs are sold under trade names such as Baquacil, Revacil or Soft Swim. We offer an improved formulation of Polyaminopropyl Biguanides known as Aqua Silk. Using a biguanide has certain benefits over chlorine.
Beside above, what does pool oxidizer do?
Oxidizers are primarily used in swimming pools to shock or even super-chlorinate the water to destroy organic contaminates and kill bacteria. Any of these contaminates enter the pool from bathers and the outside elements.
Beside this, what is chlorine free shock oxidizer?
Non Chlorine Shock is a powerful, odourless oxidising agent, which essentially means it works to eliminate contaminents in hot tub water. Oxidation is different to sanitisation. Oxidation is the breaking down of the oils and organics in your water whereas sanitisation is the killing of bacteria.
Can I use chlorine shock in a Baquacil pool?
The BAQUACIL® Pool Care System is different from chlorine and bromine-based pool sanitizers. For that reason, many chemicals that work with one system won’t work with the other. The BAQUACIL® CDX® Pool Care System is not compatible with chlorine, bromine, any copper based chemical or non-chlorine shock.
Skin Irritation: Moderate skin irritant Eye Irritation: Corrosive to eyes Skin Sensitization: Not believed to be sensitising to skin. Subchronic / Chronic Toxicity: There are no known or reported effects from chronic exposure.
Description. Aqua Silk Chlorine-Free Shock Oxidizer is a liquid formula that contains a specially-stabilized hydrogen peroxide to clarify pool water by oxidizing organic compounds completely and efficiently.
Cloudy Water (Haze)
And sometimes backwashing alone won’t get it really clean. In fact, backwashing a sand filter too often may actually reduce its effectiveness. That’s why you should deep-clean your filter chemically twice during the swimming season with BAQUACIL® Universal Filter Cleaner.
There are three main causes for cloudy pool water, including poor filtration, chemical imbalances, or environmental factors, like nearby construction, trees, or wildlife. Filter and pump problems can be caused by a range of different issues.
This is because the active ingredient in Baquacil Sanitizer® is much more stable than chlorine or bromine, so its effectiveness lasts longer. You also won’t have the bleaching of hair, fabrics, or vinyl liners usually associated with other sanitizers, and you’re less likely to encounter skin or eye irritation.
- Backwash or chemically clean pool filter. Check pool ph; adjust to 7.2-7.8 if necessary.
- Add Aqua Silk Sanitizer to give content of 50 ppm (add 1/2 gallon product/10,000 gallons of pool water).
- After 24 hours, check pH and Aqua Silk Sanitizer concentration with test strips and adjust if necessary.
Baquacil, which is classified as a Biquanide, is a non bleach/halogenic product whose main oxidizing component is hydrogen peroxide.
